Initial assessment
The first vital step in tutor selection is an in-depth application. For all tutors it’s mandatory that they complete our thorough online application form first.
The application enquires about skills, tutor ability, background checks and criminal record status. Tutors are also required to send in their CV, profile photograph and supporting documentation too.

Application forms are reviewed by our team to ascertain if a candidate has the skills and correct mind-set for a position within our organisation.

If a tutor initial application is successful then they are invited to attend an interview.

Interview Process
During the interview tutors are assessed on suitability to the role, their desire and personality are assessed too. The process is thorough and uses tough pertinent questioning to quickly ascertain if a tutor is really suitable.

The tutors documents are checked and recorded and kept in line with the data protection act we subscribe too. Tutors must be eligible to either work in the UK or be a UK citizen. A thorough examination of a tutors CRB certificate is carried out and problems here mean an instant rejection of the application. Tutors are rejected if thier CRB certificate has recorded any incidents, even if they are unrelated to working with vulnerable groups. We do not use tutors with any record what-so-ever.

Background Checks
Every tutor we supply has to either hold a current CRB certificate or submit to one before they can work with our clients. The type of CRB check required is the most stringent available by government standards. Where necessary CRB checks are completed before a tutor is allowed to work.

Reference Checking
If a tutor is found to be suitable and succeeds through our interview process, the next step if to obtain references.
References are required for both character and past tutoring experience and any positions held. A tutor cannot be considered eligible without suitable references being submitted and verified.

Ongoing Monitoring
Hiring a tutor is a lengthy process and takes a great deal of time. Our tutors continue to be monitored throughout their time with us. Tutor suitability and reliability are paramount to us and we monitor their performance very carefully. Our training and support packages that tutors can enjoy really help hone them to become even better teaching professionals. Tutor Reporting
Each month all our tutors have to submit reports for the work they have carried out. We use a very comprehensive customer management system called ‘The Big Apple’ it’s a very intelligent software platform that allows us to see exactly what our tutors do day in day out. All reports submitted by tutors are monitored and forwarded to our families so that families can also monitor progress, should they wish too.
